Pictures of my granddaughters quilt

Published April 3, 2014 by funkefragmentz

I have just recently received the pictures of the finished quilt that I had made for my new granddaughter due in mid april 🙂 As I had posted, I neglected to take pictures when the quilt was finished due to “me” being in such a hurry! I was so excited to see my children and my grandson and my daughters “baby bump” that has grown so that I forgot to take pictures :-0. But here they are as promised.

and I just had to post these sweet little crocheted shoes that my daughter, who’s due with this cute little one, made just recently!

I can’t wait to see her in them!

I’m on to making the bedding for this darling little baby girl and will be taking all of it with me on my next trip to the East Coast! It will be such a pleasure to be there to help in the making of our “Princessa’s” room, I’m so very excited, I only wish that I could be there for the birth.

This is the last project I’ll post for tonight…..it is a star patterned crocheted blanket for my granddaughter. I’m about halfway to the finish line, its a nice little diversion when I need a sit-down breather 🙂

Have a beautiful evening……

A Few Pictures are Worth a 1000 Words

Published March 8, 2014 by funkefragmentz

I’ve finished my oldest daughter’s quilt and delivered it! I did not take pictures of the finished product, I was so busy getting it done and packed to take to her for her baby shower that somehow it was overlooked. I’ve asked her to take some pictures for me and she’s promised to do just that.

I do have pictures of the 2 latest Waldorf inspired dolls to post. They are a boy and girl pair that are 9 inches and customized to be similar to the sweet brother and sister that are adopting them.

I’m on to making some doll clothing combinations to post in my Etsy store and should have them soon!

I’ll be working on an elephant also with this pink and grey fabric for my new granddaughter who will be here in April, I can’t wait!

I’ll be back soon,

Baby Cole’s Quilt

Published June 29, 2013 by funkefragmentz

This is my first quilt and having a great reason to make it was the energy boost I needed……I now have my first grandchild, a boy named Cole! Cole is now almost 8 months old and this comfy, cozy quilt was ready for him just in time.

This being my first quilt I went the inexpensive route with a small template and disappearing ink pen. It does take a bit longer, but not much and the end result is the same.

I went to a specialty quilt store, called Quiltz-here in Phoenix, AZ, with my youngest daughter (who was the expectant mother) and picked out some fun fabric that was as she had specified “not to babyish, more little man!)

These are some of my favorite toys. I used a chalk marker for the darker fabrics and a disappearing ink pen for the lighter, they both worked wonderfully.

I did some surfing on the internet for videos on quilting and found one that had safety pinned the quilt backing and batting to the front. This worked great for me and saved time also.

I used my machine to quilt the blanket and tried out some fun designs while I at it. I even spelled out his name on some of the lines as well as put in a few stitched doggies!

This is the final result with a nice checked binding to match and all tied up (with some extra binding in a bow) and ready to be delivered (pun intended)to the Baby Shower!

Well that’s my adventure for today, I’ve enjoyed sharing it with you.
